February 2007What a brilliant evening we had at Alveston Sports and Social Club! A delicioius meal, provided by Jenny and Charlie Chapman. As per usual, we provided our own fabulous entertainment. Many thanks to Lin Hingley for setting up karaoke. What a great night!! We recently signed in a new Committee, with Pearl taking on the position as Chairman, Gill as Secretary. Thanks girls for taking on those roles at the last minute! We also had some fresh faces within the committee with Lucy and Sara taking on roles of chorus reps. Welcome along! A number of our members went along to a sing-along-a -Sound of Music in January. A great evening was had by all, with Audrey Williams winning the prize for most convincing nun! Well done Audrey! New members have continued to come and join our numbers! These include Rose and Kate among the base section, and Jo in the baritone section. We hope you have many happy years with the Avonbelles. Unfortunately, to balance this, we have also lost a few members recently, including Sarah Moore, Pauline Hoon and Helen Joy. Thank you for all your years of company. We will miss you.
