We are a very friendly group of ladies from all walks of life. We love to meet new people and share our love of singing. We meet every week WHEN: Thursday evenings, 7.30 - 10pm WHERE: The Argyle Morley Church We are always keen to welcome new members, so if you would like to meet and become friends with a group of like-minded ladies who love to sing and laugh, then pay us a visit and join in! You don't need to be able to read or play music, as teaching tracks on CD are used to learn songs, but it is a help to you if you can. You just need a good ear and the ability to sing your own part in tune. To become a fully fledged member of the chorus it is important that you pass two simple assessments. The first involves deciding which voice part you might sing, and so we will ask you to pitch some notes, and sing a simple melody for us – Happy birthday is definitely the most popular! Once a decision has been reached as to which voice part you might like to learn, you will be given a teach CD and some music for a simple barbershop song. Once you are totally happy you know it, and this will be under your steam entirely, you will be asked to sing it with a small quartet. This will demonstrate that you are able to learn a part, and to hold your line while others are singing something different around you. It sounds scary, but we promise you it won’t be!
